5 blocks and 100 years from the RiverWalk and downtown San Antonio
in the historic King William District

About the Inn
If your priorities are good food and good
company in a comfortable, convenient, country Victorian setting, this is
the place for you.
The Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast, in the heart of the historic
German King William District of San Antonio, is not one of the grand old
mansions, but rather was built as shot-gun apartments around 1901 by
John T. Brackenridge, a relative of George Brackenridge, who donated the
land for Brackenridge Park. Its history is unremarkable, but its
ambiance is that of a visit to life in San Antonio 100 years ago. Think
about a house that belonged to your grandmother or favorite aunt whom
you looked forward to visiting because you were treated so well.
The Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast was tastefully restored by
Carolyn Cole and opened its doors as a bed and breakfast in 1986.
Present owners, Bennie and Sue Blansett bought it from Carolyn in 1995
and its reputation as a premier San Antonio bed and breakfast continues.
Filled with antiques and featuring breezy verandas on both the first and
second floors in the front and rear of the house and offering a heated
pool from March until November and a hot tub year-round, it is the
perfect place for rest, relaxation and recreation.
The Brackenridge House Bed & Breakfast radiates Texas hospitality and is
what you want your B&B to be. Give us a try. You’ll be glad you did.
